So perhaps you just upgraded to the new version of DotNetNuke, V05.04.00 but you aren’t seeing the new features that are available in the Community Edition of the platform (The Telerik RAD Editor and the Ribbon Control Panel).
That is because the features are only enabled by default for new installs, the upgrade doesn’t turn them on, so I’m here to show you how! It’s pretty easy, but I always recommend you backup your website and database before you make any major changes. While these two changes are pretty minor, it’s better to be safe than sorry!

This is a new post, based on information I originally posted on my blog at DotNetNuke.com a few years ago. Upgrading DotNetNuke is actually fairly easy, you can do so with ease in most cases, though occasionally you may run into a problem or two. If you follow the steps below you should be able to recover from any issues and get your website back up and running in its original state.
