Do you run a website using the DotNetNuke Forum module? If so, you might find that you want to run a report on users in a specific role to see how many posts those users are posting per month in your forums. If that’s the case I have just the SQL sample for you!

If you are anywhere in the San Francisco Bay or Silicon Valley area this post is for you. Others are welcome, but you might find the drive a little long depending on where you are.

On 3/23/2010 we are going to be holding our first DotNetNuke User’s Group here in the DotNetNuke Corporation’s Headquarters in San Mateo, CA. All are invited and encouraged to attend, it doesn’t matter if you know DotNetNuke or not yet, user groups are a great way to learn about the software, and get to meet other people using the platform for a variety of different things.

You can get more information from our website, but here is some of the basic info:

Date/time: 3/23/2010 6pm

Location: DotNetNuke HQ (Grant St)

Come out and meet fellow DotNetNuke User's from the San Francisco Bay Area held at DotNetNuke Corporation's HQ! This will likely be the one and only DNN user group meeting held in this office as we'll be moving in the near future, but we hope to have more group meetings at the new office as well (just down the street).

Topic: What are you doing with DotNetNuke?

Description: Come out and tell everyone else in the Bay Area what you are doing with DotNetNuke. Got something cool to share, please feel free to do so. If you're the quite type, don't fear, we won't make everyone talk, just those interested. You'll also get to meet some of the DotNetNuke Corp employees here in the area.

Organizer: Chris Hammond, Director of Training Programs, DotNetNuke Corporation. (recently relocated to the bay area)

Food: Pizza and Sodas provided by DNN Corp!

RSVP: So we can plan on the proper amount of food please RSVP prior to 6pm on Monday the 22nd. Send an email to info@baydug.org to let us know

Not in the Northern California area? Then be sure to check out the DotNetNuke User Groups page to locate a group close to you.

Today was my last day at Engage Software as I am starting up as the Director of Training Programs with the DotNetNuke Corporation on Monday March 1st. I’ve been working for Engage for over 5 and a half years now, and I’ve been able to enjoy what I do that entire time. Back before I started at Engage i was using DotNetNuke for my hobby websites, mainly for car racing sites, but occasionally for a few other things as well. Engage offered me an environment where I could work with DotNetNuke every day, something I looked forward to. Over the years Engage became very embedded into the DNN world, providing a wide variety of services and products for DotNetNuke. During that time I was afforded the opportunity to become more and more involved in the DotNetNuke Project, shortly after starting at Engage being invited to join the DotNetNuke Core Team.

One of the changes to DNN over the past year or so was the way that users were handled when they were deleted. Originally when a user was deleted from DotNetNuke they were hard deleted and completely removed from the database. This would cause problems if you had multiple portals (websites) in your instance of DNN and had users who were shared across those portals. In this blog post I provide some SQL to do a hard delete.

What happened to all the DotNetNuke Tips? Life once again happened, life and work. I’ve been travelling a lot the past two months doing onsite DotNetNuke Training, and as of right now that isn’t slowing down! I’m going to try to get back into the swing of posting tips again, not likely daily, but I will do my best to try to get at least two or three a week cranked out. To start things back off I’m going to tackle a simple, yet commonly overlooked one.

Did you know there was a DotNetNuke skinning contest? What? You haven't heard about it? Well you should have, check out my full blog post for details, and of course the obligatory link to my really crappy skinning contest entry from 2004.

Well the SDN event here in The Netherlands was a blast, I must say I had another great time visiting the Dutch DotNetNuke users once again. I am excited for the Day of DotNetNuke (possibly named something else) that is being planned for Paris in May of 2010. I’m going to start booking my travel for that very soon, I just need to check out Bing Travel to see what the prices are, and if they are expected to go up or down!

I hope to see more of the European DotNetNuke users at this event, I’ll post a link when there is one available, but so you can start planning for it, I hear it will be on 5/28/2010 in Paris.

Thanks again to Stefan, Erik, Joop and Remi for everything at SDN this weekend, I’m headed back to the United States now, regretting leaving, but also ready to get home to my lovely wife (she’ll be going to Paris as well)

Well life has already caused me to miss the whole “new tip every business day” goal for the site, oh well, I’ll strive to get as many posts going as I can. Last night I had Darrell Hardy here in town for the Denver DotNetNuke user group meeting, and then today was my three year wedding anniversary, so time has been limited. For now I’m going to repost an old daily tip I posted long ago. This will be a quick DotNetNuke Tip, but a worthwhile one nonetheless! I've seen this question asked tons of times, and even got an email from someone this weekend asking the very same thing.
